I wanted to explore how a loan comparison experience could provide guidance without removing transparency. The goal was to help borrowers quickly understand trade-offs, see how options fit within their budget, and make more confident decisions.
This project focused on simplifying financial decision-making through recommendation-based guidance, clear information hierarchy, and plain-language explanations.

2 Weeks
1. Start with the user's goal
Instead of asking borrowers to interpret financial metrics, recommendations are based on what matters most to them.
2. Make trade-offs visible
APR, monthly payment, loan term, and total repayment remain easy to compare across options.
3. Reduce cognitive load
Information is revealed progressively so users can compare quickly before exploring deeper details.
To validate ideas beyond static screens, I used Codex to build a working prototype and iterated directly in the browser.

• Created a working prototype using AI-assisted development tools
• Explored how goal-based recommendations can simplify financial decision-making
• Designed a responsive experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile
• Established a scalable comparison framework that could support additional lending products in future iterations
• Validated design decisions through live prototyping rather than static mockups alone
• Recommendations help reduce decision fatigue
• Trade-offs become easier to understand when presented in plain language
• Progressive disclosure keeps complex information approachable
• Building in a browser surfaces implementation considerations earlier in the design process
